Rugrats taught Equality and Socialism

I recently watched the episode called “Angelica’s Last Stand” in which Angelica makes a Lemonade stand and charges 10 cents for a cup of lemonade. She manipulates the babies into working for her without pay. Susie has the babies realize that they have been used and the babies proceed to go on strike causing Angelica to go out of business because she cannot meet the high demand of customers. At the end of the episode the babies and Susie put on a lemonade stand of their own. Tommy asks Angelica is she would like to play “lemonlade” with them. Angelica asks if she can be the boss and Tommy replies that they do not have any bosses. He states that they all share the dimes, they all do the work and they all eat the cookies. Basically they all belong and they are all equal and it is much easier for them to get along. So apparently I was learning about socialism at age two and didn’t realize it. All in all I think that the creators and writers of the show were teaching children a positive message.
